Figge Hall
Specifications
Figge Hall is a four-story, 60,000-square-foot building accommodating 156 seniors in 39 apartments. Each apartment consists of a living room, dining area, full kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms.
In each bedroom, each student has a bed, a desk, a bookcase with an overhead light, and a chair. The living room consists of a coffee table, two end tables, a couch, two lounge chairs along with a dining table, four chairs. The kitchen also includes a full-size refrigerator and freezer, a stovetop and over, garbage disposal, microwave and dishwasher. The bathroom includes a double sink, shower, toilet and corner storage rack.
Completed in 2011, Figge features a function room on the ground floor for students, faculty and staff to host social gatherings. There is also a laundry room on the first floor and each floor has a study room. A gas grill on the north side of the building is available for residents to use. Since the apartment building houses seniors, programming includes workshops and other events to help residents with job searches and prepare for life after »»ÆÞÂÛ̳.
There are six residence life staff members who live and work in the building, five resident assistants (RAs), and a head resident assistant (HRA). The Associate Director of Student Involvement also resides in the building.
